Her career began in the early 90’s when she was hired as a business manager for a two-year project to coordinate joint-venture endeavors in the cement, garment, and food industries in Anhui, Shanghai, and Xiamen, China. Upon her return to the United States, she pivoted into various management roles in the hotel industry including the role of head project manager where she oversaw the development of four brand hotel properties in California.

Jennifer would go on to pursue her childhood interest in medicine and healthcare by completing a pre-nursing program and her undergraduate education in Health Science with a focus in Healthcare Administration from California State University, Sacramento. California Senator Dianne Feinstein honored Jennifer's achievements by having the American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. Her time at the NIH lead to myriad collaborations that resulted in several peer-reviewed publications and continue to serve as references in the development of new research.
